A is for awe at the longevity of her insights and her way with words. No longer able to write, I share her former writing glories here once in a while. This from 1994…
Ooh, this is one to chew on. I love “During the past few centuries Western men (yes, males) have fundamentally changed world views and opinions about humankind. So-called rationalism has become fashionable, mysteries and sacredness have become questionable.”
I want to ruminate on this. And print it so I can mark it up, play with it, and your mom’s deep thoughts. I am so curious, was this a real couple she mentions?
I’m so glad! This was classic my mom. As for the couple, we will never know. I suspect it’s a compilation. When I got married in my (very) early twenties she did say ‘why not live together instead’. We did divorce though I never had an eating disorder nor was/is my ex plasticinoid 😊. So I suspect a stitch of half-truths. But I don’t know.
